Vitamins C

It was Linus Pauling who first emphasized the extraordinary benefits of vitamin C. He was inspired by the work of his colleagues, Albert Szent-Györgyi and Irwin Stone, because he was convinced of the usefulness of this vitamin to treat many pathologies.

Ascorbic acid, by its chemical name, is the anti-scurvy vitamin. But this is to shamelessly reduce its assets, because if it is obvious that without it, the sailors of the high seas would die in atrocious suffering, it also fulfills many other roles. Indeed, vitamin C deficiency has decimated many crews because of the hemorrhages it caused, when man was looking for the new world.

We thought scurvy had been eradicated a long time ago. However, this is not the case! These disastrous eating habits generate abysmal deficiencies in micronutrients, including vitamin C. Scurvy or the great return, it's pathetic in the 21st century. What can we say then about other, less known, consequences linked to vitamin C deficiencies, such as persistent fatigue, joint pain, muscle pain, gingivitis, difficulties in healing,...

Today, the national recommendations are as good as their vitamin D recommendations, which is to say zero. They only allow it to avoid scurvy, but still.

Did you know that some animals produce their own vitamin C endogenously? A sick goat, for example, produces up to 150 grams of vitamin C per day. Once recovered, the production will go back to normal.

This is the case for all animals that have the ability to synthesize it. Nature is well done. You must be aware that your needs go far beyond the official recommendations!

High-Dose Vitamin C: Interest and Mode of Action

It is impossible to increase your vitamin C intake orally to 15, 25, or even 50 g of vitamin C, because this would destroy both your stomach and your kidneys.

Liposomal vitamin C increases absorption and is perfectly suitable for daily consumption, especially to prevent colds. But it will not be powerful enough to fight against other, more disabling diseases.

The only way to take vitamin C in very high doses is intravenously. This way, we bypass the difficult passage of the intestinal barrier. The absorption time is much shorter, and the renal elimination threshold is not reached. The dose will be progressive (from 25 g to 50 g), depending on the tolerance of the patient and the pathologies to be treated.

In addition to the fact that it is essential to fight against colds and that it stands out especially in its ability to boost and support the immune system, it is essential to produce collagen, a protein that looks like intertwined rope fibers. The walls of blood vessels are rich in collagen and are weakened if the production is insufficient due to a lack of vitamin C.

It is also essential to reduce wrinkles, have beautiful elasticity, and maintain your youth and pep. Collagen is essential in the formation of your bones, your muscles, your tendons, your blood vessels, and your eyes. It is a structural protein found throughout your body. Stress also induces a vitamin C deficiency. Our current societies provide all the necessary substrate for the installation of chronic stress.

  • Produce serotonin
  • Produce bile acid
  • Reduce the oxidation of cholesterol
  • Reduce the risk of developing atherosclerosis
  • Reduce the risk of developing atherosclerosis; and reduce the risk of dyslipidemia (high cholesterol and triglycerides)
  • Lower the risk of cardiovascular disease
  • Regulate the hyperreactivity of the immune system to prevent Alzheimer's disease by dissolving the amyloid plaques that accumulate in the brain.

Vitamin C has a protective action against certain cancers, especially colon, pancreatic, and esophageal cancers. Cancer cells are very fond of sugar. They feed on it and proliferate thanks to it. They manage to take in more sugar than healthy cells! This is where vitamin C comes in, as it has a molecular structure similar to glucose. Like a Trojan horse, it manages to subtract itself from glucose and penetrate the cancer cell, depriving it of its favorite food. It then loses its energy and is gradually depleted by a lack of energy substrate.

Vitamin C increases, over a period of 3 years, the survival rates of breast cancer by 75% and 107% for cancers of the colorectal sphere. Chemotherapy is made more effective with the addition of high-dose vitamin C treatment.
